HARRISBURG — Sen. Cris Dush (R-25) and Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-76) Sen. Cris Dush (R-25) today announced that the Central Clinton County Water Filtration Authority has been approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for a nearly $2.6 million low-interest loan to make improvements to its filtration system.
“Securing this highly competitive low-interest loan is a proactive investment to ensure the safety and overall quality of central Clinton County’s water supply,” said Dush. “I’m grateful that PENNVEST exists to cost effectively finance these types of projects across the commonwealth. I’m even more grateful that local taxpayers and those living on fixed incomes will not have to bear the enormous price tag of this critical water system rehabilitation project benefiting Lock Haven and surrounding areas.”
When the filtration system, which provides bulk water service throughout 11 Clinton County municipalities, was last inspected, minor corrosion was detected in various components.
“The upgrades are intended to prevent corrosion, extending the useful life of the system so that it can continue to provide quality drinking water to Clinton County residents,” said Borowicz.
PENNVEST is a financing authority that provides low-cost financial assistance to address water, wastewater, stormwater and non-point source pollution problems that impact public health, safety, the environment, regulatory compliance and economic development.
