(HARRISBURG) – For his work upholding the principles of limited government, Senator-elect Cris Dush was named Legislator of the Year by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).

“It’s an honor to be recognized by your peers and partners in limited government, free markets and federalism from around the country,” said Senator-elect Dush who received the award at a virtual ceremony. “It is truly humbling, especially when so many legislators around the nation have been extremely active with regard to executive and judicial overreach this year.”
ALEC is America’s largest nonpartisan, voluntary membership organization of state legislators dedicated an efficient, effective and accountable government that puts the people in control. The group provides a forum for experts to discuss business and economic issues facing the states.
Senator-elect Dush has worked with others at ALEC to develop draft legislation that, during declarations of emergencies, returns decisions to legislatures after a reasonable period of time. He also is working with them to finalize draft legislation that will prevent the Chinese Communist Government from controlling speech and curricula in Pennsylvania universities and public schools.
“I’m excited about bringing what I’ve learned from my colleagues in other state legislatures to the Senate in the coming session,” Senator-elect Dush said.
